The real emotional roller coaster starts when we see an unexpected health issue take its toll on Bailey and the journey begins with Ethan whispering to Bailey, “Watch over CJ and protect her”.ĭuring the second part of the film we see the neglect and mental abuse with Gloria that CJ goes through as she grows from a young CJ played by Abby Ryder Fortson ( Forever My Girl, Ant-Man) and her beagle Molly to teen/adult CJ played by Kathryn Prescott ( Finding Carter, Skins) with her dog Max. In a fit of anger, a mentally unstable Gloria played by Betty Gilpin ( American Gods, A Dog’s Purpose) accuses Ethan and Hannah of trying to take her baby and decides to leave with baby CJ (Emma Volk). We see Josh Gad (voice of Olaf in Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, A Dog’s Purpose) returning as the voice of Bailey/Molly/Max/Toby.
A DOGS PURPOSE DOG ABUSE MOVIE
The first part of the movie re-introduces us to the characters and tries to bring us up to speed on the grief they experienced in the first movie. The movie stars Dennis Quaid ( I Can Only Imagine, A Dog’s Purpose) as Ethan and Marg Helgenberger ( C.S.I, Wonder Woman, Holding Patterns) as Hannah. It’s based on the 2012 novel also written by Cameron.
Bruce Cameron, Cathryn Michon, Maya Forbes, and Wally Wolodarsky. The movie is directed by Gail Mancuso ( Roseanne, 30 Rock, Modern Family) written by W. A Dog’s Journey is the sequel to the 2017 film A Dog’s Purpose.
